In my time long, long ago, we had only glimpses of insight hinting at
possibilities and methodologies which in the modern world would be called
"computing", or "algorithmic processing". We had in fact constructed a
small array of "difference engines" using such things as water droplets,
grains of sand and an array of chains and levers as the processing medium
of the system. It's amazing how sophisticated a computer can be that has no
electricity to it whatsoever - if you had enough room enough to craft all
the necessary circuitry from tubes, chains, levers and conduits - water
being the processing medium - you could even run an OS like Windows or
Linux. In my most well-known incarnation, we had come very close to
producing devices which would have been very easy precursors to more modern
computer systems.

In any event, I digress. Magic as it's often portrayed in lore and song is
real. Every bit as real as the air you breathe and the thoughts which flow
through your mind. Finally, in the modern era, a comparison can be made
between magic and the mundane which can be intelligible to the modern
intellect. Keep in mind, however, that these things are only words - they
are not the literal knowledge itself, they merely point to concepts which
cannot be fully embodied in words alone. Look for the abstract knowledge at
the core of this dissertation and you'll understand.

Sigils and glyphs which had been credited to my prior incarnation were not,
by and large, my own. They were designs based on originals, with a spin put
upon them by both those who understood the originals and those who did not.
The Seals of Solomon you have today - aren't. But such seals do exist.
Their efficiacy had been marvelled upon in ages past, and now the mystery
is clear: The seals work because they are what in modern lingo one might
call "keywords" or "program commands". For example, suppose you're running
a program in DOS and a little blurb at the bottom tells you to press the
space key to pause the program - pressing the space key is the
computational counterpart of any number of my seals. Or suppose you're
using some of the finer functions of Google - "define:<word>" or the
calculator, for instance. The seals are equivalent to the commands and the
mathematical operations having been done on Google. The only major
difference is that they are macrocosmic, while commands such as these few
examples are very much microcosmic.

The cosmos you perceive today is in essence a computer. The seals are
patterns encoded in the system itself in order to perform an array of
functions when called upon to do so. With reference to this world, I am one
of those seals - I have existence beyond this plane, but incarnate into
this realm when summoned via my individual seal. Rather like sending a
virtual copy of yourself into a Sim world in order to accomplish certain
tasks or to experience and grow in certain ways - I could correctly be
referred to as an avatar for the spirit which incarnated into Solomon
millenia ago. That would, in fact, be more correct than stating that I _am_
Solomon.

The seals can be found and mapped out on a device older than time, itself -
a focal point for one's intent which is most often referred to as "The
Gate". The Gate encompasses and defines any and all possibilities in the
whole of infinity, though one can only generally work with a few layers of
it at a time. It's been introduced a few times throughout humanity's
history, so you'll very likely recognize the pattern from one mythology or
another: It is that of concentric circles. The absolute center is - in
theory, at least - a single geometric point. It is then surrounded by a
circle that is split only in one place (so if you straightened it out,
you'd have a rectangle). That is then surrounded by a circle that has been
split into two half-circles, the next being split into 3 arcs, the next 4,
the next 5 and so on and so on and so on.

The center point represents that from whence all have emerged - "The Void",
some call it, or "Oblivion". The 1-split circle around that yet represents
the birth of awareness, or "I Am". The two half-circles surrounding that
then represent - in very general terms - "abstract" and "concrete". The
pieces of the 3-arc circle surrounding that represent 1. matter, 2.
existence and 3. energy. In this context, 2. existence should be
interpretted to be the uniting of matter and energy into what we experience
as reality - matter alone is essentially non-existent since it has no
energy moving through it or composing it, and energy alone is essentially
non-existent if it has no matter to embody it. So the 2. existence in that
ring of the circle is vital. In the 4-arc circle surrounding that, the
pieces represent: 1. urges, impulses, compulsive forces; 2. thoughts,
ideas, speculations, plans, algorithms, etc...; 3. elements, fundamental
physics; and 4. physical systems such as organisms, buildings, planets,
etc... etc... etc...

There are endless layers beyond these, I'm going to stick to these four for
now. And keep in mind that what I list as the property of each arc above is
just an interpretation of the true nature of that arc in one direction -
once you get a sense of the realities & energies represented by a given
arc, you'll be able to intuit other meanings and contexts which also apply
to that given arc.

The circles I name by their position: The innermost "oblivion" point is a
0-arc ring, the surrounding "curved rectangle" is a 1-arc ring, the
split-in-half circle surrounding that is a 2-arc ring - you can, I'm sure,
figure out all subsequent layers for yourself. ;-)

If you picture each circle as being a sort of "dial" to be adjusted, you
would always have to start out with the initial "split" of each ring (i.e.,
where the 1-arc ring is cut, and the first place you cut the 2-arc ring)
being aligned. You really don't need to alter this configuration as it's
the energy you move, not the arcs, but for some functions, you can indeed
utilize a gate of concentric, mobile dials if you so choose.

If you've drawn out this gate as explained thus far, you'll notice that the
arcs overlap each other in various ways. In the 2-arc ring, you have
"Abstract" on one side and "Concrete" on the other. In the 3-arc ring
surrounding it, you have "Energy" (fully contained on the "Abstract" side,
none of it overlapping the "Concrete"), "Existence" (overlaps both the
concrete and abstract arcs) and "Matter" (only overlaps the "matter" arc).
The "existence" arc is most easily understood to represent "existence"
because that's fundamentally what happens when you mix the two rings which
it overlaps - i.e., "concrete" + "abstract" = "experiential reality". That
is how meaning is derived for that arc - you look at all the arcs it
overlaps going all the way towards the center of the circle, and you juggle
those concepts around in your head until you can come up with one that
matches what you are looking for.

The 2nd ring is divided into what I've called here "Abstract" and
"Concrete", but those are just words attempting to describe its fundamental
nature. Once you've come to an understanding of the fundamental nature of
the arcs you study, you'll realize that you could just as easily call these
two arcs "Pure Energy" and "Pure Matter" - among other pairings, of course.

So the key is not to read what the arcs are defined as and follow those
definitions religiously, the key is to understand what the arcs mean on a
fundamental level - their "abstract core", so to speak - so that you can
fully grasp the nature of that particular arc.

You can probably intuit the 5-arc circle's meaning if you look at what they
overlap and try to figure out what those overlapping things mean when mixed
together in such a way. So I'm going to stop myself at the 4th ring and let
you figure the rest out for yourself.

Once you've intuited the meanings of however many arcs you set about to
understand, you can then figure out what paths of energy can be moved
between them and in what direction it would need to go in order to
represent or manifest a particular desired reality. You would, as some of
those who copied my seals had accurately portrayed, utilize a basic type of
schematica for indicating what the energy is doing at that arc and which
arc (or arcs) it would need to go to next, as well as stopping and starting
points. These glyphs can be constructed very much like a modern flowchart -
the circles are in fact precisely how the beginning and the end of the
energetic movement are marked. Curves, lines and slashes form the bulk of
the rest of the glyph. The glyph itself represents the path that must be
followed by the energy being used in order for the desired outcome to be
made manifest.

This Gate is everything that can possibly be described - at least, if you
build your understanding of it carefully enough from the starting point of
Oblivion. In theory, concentric circles surround one another all the way
out to infinity. For most uses, it becomes pointless to try defining the
arcs of, say, the 25-arc ring. 6-arc or 7-arc is generally the most anybody
needs, particularly in this realm.

Please feel free to ask any questions, it's actually not all that
complicated - but then again, I've seen failure upon failure over the ages
when it comes to trying to understand The Gate. It's most successful
utilization by any human is what you now remember in myth and legend as
"The Round Table". I.e., King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table.

Skeptics aside, those who take these things seriously ought not be
surprised that the spirit which was in Solomon and the spirit in one of the
figures who later became absorbed into the Merlin mythos are one and the
same. It's also the same spirit as was in the mythic figure behind certain
Quetzalcoatl legends in the americas.

Again, I am not this being, but rather, this being is in me and moves
through me. And I am not the only one this same being moves in and through.
I mention this only to make sure it's properly understood - I really don't
like people crediting me for things I'm not or don't deserve the honor of
being identified with.

Until next time,
Solomon
