Funny thing is, for the 8 years before George W. Bush was elected, it was the
right-wing flakes going on about the leftist conspiracy to take over the world
and put 'united nations troops in USA to take away our guns'. The black
helicopters figured prominently... ahh those were the days.
First of all, even by its own standards, the United States is not
the "Greatest Nation in the History of Mankind." There are many countries
who surpass it, even now.
Never mind the fact that anyone who thinks that living in an artificial
desert of concrete and asphalt dominated by sociopaths in high-speed-
armored wheelchairs where life is terrible that people have to live
vicariously through the Television and that has to trash the planet and
regularly commit mass murder to sustain itself can hardly be called the
"Greatest Nation in the History of Mankind."

No. We aren't "leftists". There is no fundamental difference between the
left and the right in the United States.
Though people like you want us to *believe* there is. You don't fool
anyone but yourself.
Do you see your enemies making a distinction between Americans of the
left and right? Do Moslem geurillas target only republicans?

Americas sons have, *mostly*, been sent to die for American GREED.
They have died trying to impose the American economy and lifestyle
on others.

Only on the Internet and a few hardcopy publications with fairly limited
circulation.
Try it almost anywhere in America in *person* and in a public or semi-public
forum, and you will find yourself without a job or a place to live and
conceivably beaten half to death.
No. It won't say on your employment record that you were fired for critic-
izing America. Americans aren't that honest.

Both look to be the same side of the coin from here. Both never talk

Bread and circuses.
But even more incompetent it would seem.
Its all basic misdirection. Argue endlessly about something that is
unimportant, and meanwhile do the important and nasty things quietly and
in secret. Keeps the Merkin peasants busy arguing left versus right,
meanwhile the oligarchy tales what it wants.

Popular media and on call activists take care much of that. A threat
(from a common interest) made a while ago becomes much more feasable
if the media's favorite wins the hot seat.

Things do have a kindigarden nap time feel to them don't they.
Although time was pretty sweet if you had a girl friend in the class.
You were going along pretty good 'till you got here. If one is to read this
statement in the context of the overall rant, one might infer that only the
Americans do this (and that is to say that "every" American is directly
responsible for this kind of conduct). To speak of America as if they have
somehow cornered the market on greed shows a fantastic naďveté concerning
both global economics and the American people, at large. My two cents.

I disagree, this person is not naive he is a self-righteous blathering fool.
He knows he is spouting crap because he used to not be a zit-faced adolescent.
How many fourth-graders would you hear spouting this kind of stupidity? None,
they want a burger and fries. They're the niave ones because one day they're
going to wake up in suburbia and feel middle-class guilt and start spouting off
with self-righteous feed the 3rd worlders crap like this jackass. Then again

It happens in nearly all liberal venues. Pagans tend to be liberal so
it's only natural. _Forced_ many sons to die for.

Just because we're better off in the US doesn't mean we should sit
quietly by and take things the way they are. People do realize that
there are worse places to live. If it's supposed to be so great now
why stop progress? Imagine how great it could be.
> This is the greatest nation in the history of mankind. It is a paragon of

Americans like to think so. In "the history of mankind" eh? We've only
come this far since we crawled out of the water all those eons ago?
Not something to brag about...
> We have moved civilization forward a notch in that we are the first nation to
> responsibility for the rest of the world. We feed it, trade with it, and

The US has done a lot of great things to help out other countries.
That doesn't forgive everything. We've also pissed a lot of people off
for damn good reasons too.
> Yet we stand firm in our dedication to our responsibilities and our moral
> obligations to our fellow men.
Whose morals? The morals I see being implemented every day aren't
mine. And what of our fellow creatures and our planet? They are
virtually powerless so I guess we need not be concerned with pissing
them off or needing their help one day.
> Of course, as they sit and bitch about how this country only stands for the
> rich, how it "oppresses" minorities
Our capitalist system is a monstrousity that needs to be kept in
check. The only way to survive without constant economic struggle is
to sell your soul to big business. Remember that tax refund a few
years ago? I know families who didn't make enough money to get a
refund. I'm sure they needed the money more.
Damn right that people bitch about oppression of minorities. Equality,
life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is just one of those things on
paper. In practice it doesn't work out so well. If someone is white,
hetero, and christian they have a lot more going for them. Society
gets most of the blame for that. It's the most disgusting thing about
this country. That's why we don't live up to our own standards. How
can someone have devout patriotism for a country that looks down upon
them? Conform, obey, consume and life will be just grand.
The Natural Philosopher wrote:

It's not happening to Americans so why care? Out of sight out of mind.
The US morns the loss of American soldiers in Iraq, but how often is
there focus on all the innocents and foreign soldiers killed? Those
people have families and friends too that experience just as much
grief. The sick thing is that many Americans are glued to the news
(our modern circuses), seeing it happen, or at least hearing
one-liners about it, yet remain ignorant of or unmoved by the bigger
picture.
The overly patriotic types who think the US is without blame and is
perfect are the ones with more blame. They think the world is just
hunkydory and don't care about changing it.
It reminds you that we kicked your asses
So go live in some shithole hovel in Bangladesh, loser

I have it on good authority that the British Aristocracy from back then have
re-incarnated as American politicians.
I think people badmouth what they wish to....whether or not it has merit
or truth to it.
I like Americans.....what I don't like is the paranoia and the tunnel
vision. That can happen in any country....even in peaceful, lower crime
Canada and England.

Well, the Right Wing -- Bush's Right Wing, want to do just that. All in
the name of Jesus too. The people who control Bush's puppet strings are
right wing fundamentalist Christians. They believe that YOU and I are
not real Americans. YOU and I do not have the right to vote, or any
other right guaranteed by the Constitution because that document was
written ONLY for TRUE CITIZENS (aka, Christians).
See http://www.theocracywatch.org
They want to "restore America to it's orginal Christian foundations."
So go ahead and vote for Bush for another four years. It just might be
the last time you vote. When I meet up with you in Christian gulag,
I'll say "I told you so."
Difference being that, come next January, our "king" will de deposed whilst
you will still be looking at old Lizzie. You would think those inbred
hemophiliacs would die young but they just go on forever.
Actually that's exactly why I am no longer a Bush supporter. When he kept
his focus on the stuff he should be working on- the economy and defense- he
was okay. However, when he started sticking his jezoid nose into people's
marriages, banned stem cell research, armed Heinreich Ashcroft with the
Patriot Act, and what we can listen on the radio he crossed the line and now
he must go.
We must send a clear message to the government: stay the fuck out of our
lives
Well now they can all have at a turn to be king (or queen).
You all OTOH have yet to work out a *peaceful*
solution for the Crown to change hands. How about
American football? Winner of the Crown Bowl's sponsors
get to hold the Crown for 50 years until the next Crown Bowl.
There's a nice tournament to get the blood flowing, and a chance
for the underdog to grab the Gold also. (Not to mention a new
industry with profit potential for many!)

The Queen replies "I'm sorry Mr Bush, but to be a Kingdom, you have to
have a King in charge - and you're not a King."
George Bush thought a while and then said: "How about a Principality
then?", To which the Queen replied "Again, to be a Principality you have
to be a Prince - and you're not a Prince ".
Bush thought long and hard and came up with "How about an Empire then?"
The Queen, getting a little annoyed by now, replies " Look Bush, to be
an Empire you must have an Emperor in charge - and you are not an Emperor."
Before George Bush could utter another word, The Queen said: "I think
you're doing quite nicely as a Country".
Heh. What source is that from, you?
It was more of a grinding down, rather than an ass-kicking. Washington's
forces won very few battles (if any at all), but winning battles does not
nessecarily win a war - c.f. Vietnam, US forces win the majority of battles,
but VC and NVA forces win the war.
America was Britain's Vietnam.
IIRC it was quite a few years after the declaration of independence on July
4th 1776, that the United States finally came to be. And you did have quite
a bit of military help from the French to secure it.
The fact that you fought a war to secure independence has given your country
it's strength since it's birth. If the Brits had not fought against it, I
don't think the US would be the strong country it is today.
I for one am not anti-US, though I'm not too impressed with the current
administration, then again, I'm not impressed with the current UK government
either.

Correct. The two-party system serves the ruling class, not the people.

No. they don't give a fuck about either. Those are merely the tools of
oppression they use to gain votes.
Both are entirely irrelevant and totally illusory, but they serve to
'divide and rule' and are thus part of the current Great Game.
There is no difference.
