Wrong, we are growing more and more aware that religion may not be a suitable answer for the world around us. We are beginning to realize that the god-model has grown outdated and that we can obtain like spirituality without the christian God. I think christians already proved with such actions as the Inquisition what can happen if society becomes christian. How do they act? The exact same: like animals, because that's what we are. People are still going to have the same chemicals and motivations working in them and the same things or going to happen. Well, he just reviewed doubling information with his RAWian humor. He took the amount of information that was in the world during the time of Christ and called this 1 Jesus (Jesus being a unit of measure). Information doubled to 2, then 4, then 8 Jesuses and so on at ever accelerating rates. Information still does this, doubling faster and faster every year. And if the trend keeps up, by 2012 information will be doubling theoretically every millionth or billionth of a second or something like that. Either something must give way-- like WWIII-- that sets back humanity and stops information doubling so fast, or we learn how to control it. Of course I think we'll leave the planet about that time. Then there's of course population explosion to think about etc etc.

Paul was a punk who, in his youth as Saul, relished in persecuting Christians. Later he had a 'conversion' (on the road to Damascus, according to him) and quickly promoted himself to the status of an Apostle. There is a huge difference between information and data. Data might be doubling at an ever-faster rate, but it does not mean that information is growing at the same rate. The size (in bits) of a data file bears no direct relationship with the amount (in bits) of information in it; this is what makes (lossless) data compression possible. To use a more accessible example: five million copies of the Bible contains exactly as much information as one copy.

Oh no no no, I agree completely. That was my criticism with that view as well. I don't take everything RAW says to heart. I know there is a difference between useful and useless information. Hell, I cruise the web everyday :)
