(off-topic) identifying US artist Forte

people amongst this group, and I would appreciate your help in finding
out about a US artist called Forte.
We own an oil painting signed Forte 70 (no accent). It was
commissioned in the early 1960s by Ford Motors, Detroit, and given to
the financial consultant (my husband's uncle) handling the Ford
account in Argentina. It was numbered 70 as part of the commission.
Oils on canvas, landscape of boats in a boat yard, 49x69 cms. Gilded
wood 'well-set' frame 56x76 cms.
Could anyone in your group please tell us anything about this
artist - I have searched the web with no success. We would like to
sell it, as 1960s American art suddenly seems to be popular again.
Advice welcome!
If you want to visit the painting whilst OBE, it is down the side of
the chest of drawers in our bedroom!

Further research suggests Vincente Forte, born 1912, affiliated to
the Italian metaphysical school called 'Groupa Orion'. Does anyone
know any more about this man?

Newest info is that Vicente Forte (born 4 April 1912, died 7
November 1980) is an Argentinian artist, selling well in Argentina.
I found some references to him all in Spanish or very mouldy and weird
'Babelfish' translations. Come on all you net wizards, (especially
Spanish speaking) can you please discover anything about him,
particularly any pictures appearing on the net? Recent auction prices?
Colour of beard? I'll just have to set up a time travel and go back
and visit him....

Date of the sale, title of work, and medium used
23/05/97 - Pasaro y Jaula - Oil/canvas
21/03/97 - Mesa con Objectos - Oil/canvas
26/07/96 - La vieja lampara - Oleo/tabla
25/04/93 - El Pajaro - Oil/canvas
There was also an American artisit named John Forte who did
the artwork for comic books such as "Superman" and "Supergirl".
It seems he was still doing comic books in the sixties. I have no idea
if he also did paintings as well though. There could have been other
American artists named Forte as well who were doing oil paintings in
the sixties of course. They may just not be all that well known. :-)

Thanks again, but I'm pretty certain that the artist was the
Argentinian Forte.

No, in general it is not safe. If your browser is capable of
encryption and the web page that you are using is using encryption,
then it is somewhat safer, but there is still risk involved even then
I suppose, since the web page may not make proper use of the
encryption or whatever. You may want to phone the company by voice and
give them your credit card number over the phone, if you have a phone
number for them.

I have done it many times... without problems...
But is it safe? No....
Is it likely that someone with tap your account... No.
Should I take the small risk there is.... yes.
You might not want to have a million or something like that
in your account, just in case....
