Many thanks to all of you for helping me in the past.
A good while ago I was given a Dell Demension system. It is old but I'm only looking for a standby unit.
I managed to bollocks it up but now have the disk and all is fine.
If I use my wired Virgin Media Superhub on the Dell (presently connected to this computer) will I cock the modem up?
In other words, can I just screw the cable in to the Dell and then back into this computer without anything going wrong?

Try it; nothing to lose. Once installed, it should be recognized when it's re-attached. I did this with my serial port attached to different peipherals.
