Please can anyone tell me why I suddenly have IconMgr.exe repeatedly
starting up when my desktop has loaded. I get a folder with
IconMgr.exe in it and I dont know how to get rid of it. I have XP home
and athlon 2600. I had Eclcp.dll comong up with it also at first. I
found this was related to my 3 Deep color so I uninstalled that
through add/remove. This appears to be an obsolete software now anyway
with no support!!! But...I am still left with the IconMgr.exe problem.
I looked for it in registry found it and deleted it but it still comes
back! Trouble is there are probably other strings attached to this
problem but I dont know what they are. There looked to be a couple of
things that were necessary to windows when I looked in registry so I
am not keen to delete too quick. Can anyone help please its driving
me mad!
Thanks
Sue

You need to get Adaware - www.lavasoft.de

Looks like many people are getting this: http://tinyurl.com/2ss47

I have adaware updated and avg updated and housecall upadted and still
the desktop loads followed immediately by this IconMgr.exe folder!!
Adaware told me I have a virus Jave/Byte Verify but I ran evrthing I
got to find it and get rid of it with no success. I read all the
postings about iconmgr.exe and to be honest it just confused me even
more. I need to know that I definately have a virus and if so how to
get rid of it. Is it soemthing to do with Coolwebsearch and a
trojun??? I really am getting confused. Can I just send the
Iconmgr.exe folder to the recycle bin and get rid of it or will that
mean I will never know if this bug has gone??
Any help...anyone??
Thanks
