I have gcc install with this fedora 16 and tried man fread and get no
manpages. Also grub seems to be different. I want to change the defaults to
boot my windows by default.

Why?

So you can post to UseNet using

X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180

???

Well yeah that's one reason. I do all my networking with windows. I use
linux for development.

"No man pages", or "no man page for 'fread'"?

Different..... from what?

man grub

HTH.

For fread. I installed an rpm called man-pages and it has C's functions
and such. I was only getting bash's printf man page too and now I get C's.

fedora 15 it seems to me.

ROTFL. Oh dear the troll bell has gone off. I do find it hard to believe
that you you Linux for development and yet can not get to read the news with
it. Sorry

Well I guess I don't have a grub man page. Or info pages. Commands like
'help' 'root' and so on don't work at all with grub. I have no idea what to
type in the CLI.

It's not Bash's, it's "command line" printf(1), which is indeed
different from C printf(3). Consider, e. g.:

$ man 1 printf

$ man 3 printf

You don't say what version of Grub you have (I don't know Fedora at all)
but the current documentation can be found at:

Then go look it up somewhere. Have you never heard of Google? You can't
do a little (simple) research on your own?

Who wipes your ass for you? Maybe you could ask them.

Sheesh.
