thumper/~ apropos bios
biosdecode (8) - BIOS information decoder
edd_id (8) - udev callout to identify BIOS disk drives via EDD
vbetool (1) - run real-mode video BIOS code to alter hardware state

Also look at dmidecode and hwinfo. I'm sure there are others, depending
on what you actually want to achieve.

take a look at the source code for lrmi
i think you can use the same method to do a general real mode BIOS call
