Finally Yast2 + DownloadInAdvance
|
| |
Hello all, Not sure if everyone knows this or not, but I will share nonetheless. Looks like Yast2, or zypp actually, has an option to download all the RPMs first then install them. This is different from past implementations were Yast2 would download an RPM then install it then download the next and... more »

Adding HD: Grub error 5
|
| |
Hi, I have a serious problem: I ran out of HD space and decided to add a new SATAII HD. I didn't have a SATA cable, do I removed the DVD cables and used those. After I added the new HD and saw the BIOS recognized it, I booted and couldn't get passed a Grub "Error 5" message. I got desperate and removed... more »

network printer configuration
|

...
What a dumbfucked idea. You won't see this shit under any version of Windows, from 95 to XP to Vista. Linux is again a piece of Shitty OS.
Not only it has printer problem Linux has modem connection problem too, ver 10.3 isn't able to complete its work, it detects but then it won't bind with your modem connection to your Web browser. How a fu@k will the user know how to fix this shit? >>> "Please check your network connection..." Don't tell me to go read your poor online document. Searching thr topic modem "No found" So poorly written.... more »

KDE4 - Here is some help
|
| |
I don't have KDE4 running (I'm monitoring this newsgroup for screams and blood in the water before stepping in myself), but I found some web pages that should be helpful for an introduction to the system, and for the problems people have been talking about here. Here's the announcement of KDE4.3.3, with a screenshot showing... more »

Why Linux has failed, and why Linux will fail again and again?

On Mon, 23 Nov 2009 03:10:50 -0800, "EHWollmann" ... Even if your name were Joe, there would be no hope for a user that doesn't even fall on the one to ten user class list. Your problems go far deeper than your capacity to grasp desktop GUI paradigms. Also, nothing you posted has anything to do with security to begin... more »

suse 11 autofs with LDAP
|
| |
I brought up a suse 11.0 host with ldap but autofs doesn't seem to work with it. Comparing the init script with a suse 10.x machine, there seem to be a number of pieces missing, most notably, running /usr/lib/autofs/autofs-ldap-au to-master which doesn't exist on my 11.x machine even though LDAP was installed. The packages I have include... more »

no control center in windows vist .. er kde
|

...
Yup, you got that right. I tried several Linux fuckup OS's to see how good they are, I haven't seen anything working yet other than the nice backgrounds, the writers spent their times on polishing color instead of the OS usability and functionality. What a fucking group of numbnuts.
