Hi All!
I'm trying to get the internal microphone to work on an ASUS vivobook S200e using OpenSUSE 12.3_x86_64 and KDE. I can not record any sounds nor does it work in Skype. So far google has not been my friend and I only found this link on the web which was unanswered (for ubuntu)

Selecting file-type in FireFox

I already asked it on the FireFox newsgroup, but did not get a
response. That is why I am posting it here.
When using gmail you can attach a file. You get a pop-up where you can
select the type of the file. But the only type you can select is 'all

Network interface does not show up in firewall

I want to share my printer on my network. (I mostly print on once PC,
but it never hurts to be flexible.) I thought it would not be that
difficult to share the printer with CUPS. The problem is I need to set
the interface to the internal zone. But strangely enough in the list
with devices, none is shown. So I can not set them also.... more »

Update from 11.4 to 12.3

I have 11.4, 64 bit, evergreen. Now I'm downloading 12.3 and will soon
create the DVD of 12.3. Can I update directly from 11.4 evergreen to
12.3 or should I go first to 12.1 or something else?

DHCP Server

This has worked in the past but now is in a state where on start up
complains "Can not determine hostname. LDAP based ... not available". It
then goes to screen "DHCP Server Configuration" and bypasses the normal

I recently bought a computer with Windows 8 pre-installed. I fired it off, stumbled around until I could do all the patching. Then I booted a network install CD and loaded OpenSUSE 12.3, and did the patching on it.

I am running the newest OpenSuse.
Somehow, the running programs do not appear in the bottom panel.
I was messing around with the settings. My bad.
How do I get this back again? I have no ideas what's running.
