Does anyone out there have an iso for suse linux 6.1 disk 4 please. I know
this sounds an odd request, but this is the only release that works on my PC
and I have lost disk 4. I dont want to change my pc for a more expensive one
just because of one disk.
I hope someone out there can help.
Thanks

I do still have it
But I will not invest any effort at all for someone who posts with that
garbage OE into a linux group

Are you sure you REALLY want to read this with Netscape?

Sheesh! Lighten up Peter. People should have the freedom of choice about
which OS and what software they use. Microsoft will be around for a long
time. Linux is not going to go away. Maybe the computer Chris was using
at the time only has Microsoft OE on it.
I use Suse 10.2 and Windows XP. I prefer to use Suse, but still use
Windows occasionally. Does that make me part of the evil scourge?

Right. And it is my choice to completely shun those posting with OE to linux
groups.

There is *no* excuse for using OE. Not even being terminally stupid would be
one

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with your Microsoft product.
And it is my right to killfile those people who do not believe in
choice.

Sorry Peter, I thought this was a serious newsgroup for people who wanted
to use LINUX and needed help.
I did not know that it is for people with big chips on their shoulders.
Again sorry I guess I will have to go back to Windoze 3.11, at least I
can get disks for that and support from the net, if not from Bill.
Sorry to have rattled your cage.
Happy New year for next week.

If you have old hardware it does not mean you must use outdated and
probably insecure software. Try DSL. Pret slick distro:

They say pesticides have been linked to low sperm counts.
In my opinion if you have bugs down there that are so bad
you need to use a pesticide, you're not gonna get laid anyway.

Please don't feel this way. I don't have disk four for 6.1
or I'd have offered to help. Lots of folks here are
helpful.
But you must have seriously old hardware. I've installed
10.0 on a 200 Mhz machine without any problems. And I'd
try it on an older machine if I still had one around.

PLONK!
Please don't be disheartened by over zealous wombats like Peter, the world
(and my kill list) is full of them.
Out of curiosity what hardware are you trying to run?? If you can't get
OpenSuSE 10.2 to run on it what about Debian? Slackware? or perhaps even a
BSD flavour? I must say I've googled for SuSE 6.1 myself and come up with
very little. I've got a few old SuSE versions lying around from 7 onwards I
think, though I'd have to check.
Is it the window manager that is too heavy for your hardware? Or some more
fundamental incompatibility like kernel version? Tell us more about why it
doesn't work and a little about the hardware and perhaps we can make
alternative suggestions to running SuSE 6.1 that will meet your needs.
