common users and mounting removable devices (USB pendrives)
|
| |
Ciao,
after years of using GNU+Linux I feel a bit ashamed that I have never
implemented the "right" solution to the problem: allow common users to
mount USB pendrives and access their contents with the right
permissions. I am trying to do this now, but I am not sure to be doing... more »

|

Thanx there is a fine xfce terminal, giving me decent access for most of
what I do with computing stuff (starting with mutt & tin, most editing via
joe in emacs-mode, etc). From time to time it is as well nice to have
Thunar (after having convinced it, that there is really nothing to do for it... more »

Cobol comes to Slackware
|
| |
So the changelog today has another big bunch of updates, including "open-cobol", which I probably wouldn't have noticed, except for the statement "We're finally a mature operating system. Enjoy. :)".
The slew of updates is prefaced with "Thanks to Robby Workman for help with many of these updates!" but I don't know if he's responsible for the... more »

XFCE : Mixer applet crashes when scrolling
|
| |
Hello
In two slack14 install (32bit and 64) bits, I installed the XFCE desktop.
I installed the Mixer applet.
When I mouse scroll on it, it crashes. In 13.37, it used to raise volume
down and up.
How to make the mixer applet works again?
Thanks
-- Kevin
