Try this and see what you get:
$zgrep NTFS /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_NTFS_FS=y
# CONFIG_NTFS_DEBUG is not set
CONFIG_NTFS_RW=y
I suspect the last line is different, and might look like this:
# CONFIG_NTFS_RW is not set
