I've upgraded a number of PCs from 12.0 to 12.1 successfully, but my one
notebook (Dell 3800) appears to have a small configuration issue.

In previous slackware releases, the notebook's Xircom XEM 5600
network/modem card was setup correctly at system boot. After the
upgrade to 12.1, my eth0 device is not being defined during system boot.
However, if I remove/reinsert the card (after boot has completed) and
then restart the network, eth0 is setup correctly.

Any hints as to what might be causing the "eth0 not defined" problem on
system boot and its solution are appreciated.

Thank you,

Peter

Have you installed the package dhcpcd ?
The script rc.inet1 needs it !
