Thank for the info, Henrik. I do need to do something. Yesterday I
was jes happy to see my old leet box back again, but I gotta do some
tweaking, fer sure.
This huge resolution is fun, at first. Kinda the closest thing to a
projector, but I can already see it wearing thin. The manual is zero
help. First, the print is so tiny, I hafta wear a jewelers loupe to
even read it. Second, it tells me almost nothing. It explains none
of the manual control settings other than to mention them or their
acronym functions, half of which I haven't a clue. I did locate the
"auto" function, which I guess is supposed to do a h/w config like you
mentioned. Nothing. Looks like I'll spend the morning with Google
and learning more about xorg.conf and gtf.

Still, a day spent tweaking Slackware is better than using screwbuntu.
I finally got a chance to explore that abomination on my eee netbook
from a flash drive while my leet box was down. Whatta total piece of
crap! It has NOTHING!! I couldn't load up slrn till I installed some
sorta support base, some nonsense which sounded suspiciously like
something from M$. And NO GCC! NO MAKE! No nothin'! An OS based on
C and no way to compile C!! I couldn't believe it. I looked at the
installed software and realized this thing is useless. It's not even a
decent game box, though that seems to be Shuttlebug's long term goal.
It's soooo bad, it even makes M$ Windows look like a viable OS. I now
see why screwbuntu is the up and coming alternative to M$ and the most
popular linux distro, ever. It's aimed at ppl even dumber than Mac
users! Un-beee-lievable!
