Hello,

Anyone of you using skype under Slack?
I have a small problem with it. I cannot make it to ring. Not even on the
pc-speaker...Of course I can speak with it and I can hear the other side.
The KDE sound-system is turned off for me, 'cause I don't like arts.
Do you have any idea what can be the problem?
I don't care if the soundcard is ringing or the pc-speaker, but at least one
should :)
(and as far as I remember I also compiled the pc-speaker module to the kernel)

Thx !

Dudee

I guess it can't find the sound files. See instructions in the README file
in the skype directory.

Actually the README tells this:

Skype keeps its resources in a resources directory. The resources
directory must contain the following subdirectories:
* "sound". This contains the following files: ...blabla
[...]
3) hardcoded paths of current directory, /usr/share/skype and
/usr/local/share/skype

Actually I have it there, so I still don't know the reason...

but thx!

Ohh...Actually you are right!
I've checked it again. My directory was /usr/local/share/skype-1.1.0/
ehhe...

Thx!
