Newbie:logitech Quickcam express works...

I read from "it.comp.os.linux.mandrake" a post on how to install a
logitech Quick Cam Express web-cam.
I tryed and succesfully installed on my desktop and a laptop.
I thought of sharing it here ( eventhough very few people probably use
this webcam...), just to give me the feeling that I contributed
something for once instead of always asking...
I had this webcam for more then one year and I was never able to
install it before...

I repeated the steps mechanically ... I did not understand some of the
passages...

1- make sure kernel-source-2.6-2.6.12-12mdk is installed in the
computer;

2-Install libSDL1.2-devel-1.2.8-5mdk .It is present in the PowerPack
2006 installation disk;

3-download the driver at :
http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Investigation/Gspca/; I used
"gspca-20060831"

4-tar -xvzf gspca-20060831.tar.gz

5-go in the directory gspcav1 and , as root, run ./gspca_build

6-go back in the directory gspca-20060831/gspcagui and always as root
run
make
make install

7-connect webcam and run "gspcagui -d -/dev/video0";

from the "Remote Control" window press G and after a few minutes the
image will appear on screen
of course it works also with genomemeeting.

I have followed the instruction from the italian newsgroup post ,as the
READ_AND_INSTALL was too "intimidating"...
