I compiled NTFS support (with the experimental write capability) into my new
kernel (2.2.14). I can mount and read my NTFS partition just fine, but I
cannot write to it. Is there something else I need to do to enable this
capability?

I'm aware this is experimental and dangerous, but I have little to lose at
this point. All I really need to do to my NTFS partition is rename two files
(I hope) and with any luck at all I can avoid a whole lot more hassle. If it
hoses the partition, I've got a very recent image of it on a couple of
CD-Rs, so I lose very little.

Yes, and yes. I'm told that I don't have the permission to change or delete
a file. I'm puzzled. I thought 'root' could do anything?
