Did you check the gentoo wiki, think they had some huawei howto, looked at
those for a while when I thought I would buy a 3g-dongle.

I have come across this tutorial:
http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Huawei_E220
for E220 which is said to be very similar to E156G,
and there is needed some external UI interface writen in python
provided by Vodafone "but only one version seems to work (sometimes)
with gentoo" :(
What do you think about it and wouldn't it be replaced by something
more reliable?

I connect my modem to my desktop but i
cannot start internet? I just got a new line from my local isp. And i
have my default modem. It's works for wireless, but not my wired
connection. I already connect it all in place, but i cannot seem to
create the network, so i also can't start up my internet. When i
check out my network connection, it's blank too. So i wonder how do i
create a network and start using it?
