Hi Guys,
I need some help. I have a SCSI scanner that I'm only able to use as root.
I can use it as regular user if I go to terminal and type (chmod o+rw
/dev/sg2) . I don't want to do that every time. Can some one tell me how
to set the proper permission at boot time.

Your help will be appreciated.

This permission is not set at boot time, but at login.

Your regular user needs to be a member of the "scanner" group. If you
are using Gnome, changing this is a matter of a few clicks.

There is no need to reboot, but the user will almost certainly need to
log out and then log back in for the permissions to take effect.
