Could someone please help me with this? I have some notebooks that
lack RS-232 ports, but I need to use them to connect to serial devices
in FreeDOS. I have a PC-Card RS-232 card from I/O Flex, but they
don't have a DOS driver. I could also get a USB to serial cable from
Kinamax, but they too only support their device in Windows. Does
anyone know of a RS-232 USB or PC-Card device that has DOS support, or
know of a driver that would work with either the I/O Flex PC Card or
the Kinamax cable?

We have had success using these devices in FreeDos, but only when running
in a virtual machine under a host that supports these devices. For
instance, running XP as the host with VMWare player running FreeDos in the
VM works well for us. This way too you can map the Com port to something
that will work for you. Unfortunately you will need Xp or similay on the
notebook to run the VM. This is what works for us.
