We were offered a package which includes Showtime for 1 yr. Didn't really
want it, but the sales rep said we'd be able to view all seasons of Showtime
series like Dexter, Nurse Jackie, etc. Well that appealed to me so we took
the package.

I started watching Dexter. Got through season one and 10 episodes of season
2. I watched the 10th episode on April 21, 2013. Under the weather this
afternoon, so I thought I'd view episode 11.

SURPRISE! only season 7 is available now. I called Comcast and the rep was
very apologetic but said it appears that Showtime had pulled all the old
seasons. Interesting because the Comcast Xfinity website still advertises
all episodes of all seasons.

Now of course, I am fulfilling my obligation by paying my bill. Comcast is
not providing what it claims. No surprise really. But I'll rent from the
library to finish Dexter and will not start another series. Plus when this
package expires, I'll will not take another similar package. I can't trust
Showtime, either.

in Philly,
Just another unsatisfied customer.

Been there, done that! Content providers and their table d'hôte model sucks.

I'm about a millimeter away from dropping TV service and buying everything à la carte from Amazon Instant Video.

Me too. In fact I watched the last two episodes of season 2 of Dexter on
Amazon Prime instant video this evening. The rest of Dexter, I can rent from
my local library.
Like Comcast cares.

You sure your bill goes beyond specifying that you are paying the
extra cost for Showtime and actually specifies what shows you will get
on Showtime? Yeah, didn't think so.

Only the dead don't have to concern themselves with change. You paid
Comcast for Showtime access. They gave you access. Comcast doesn't
own Showtime. Drop Showtime and send Showtime a message if you don't
like what Showtime did with their programming.
