since June 1, ch 11 + 12 at my house (several TVs) have been blank - just
snowy
Stopped at Comcast office they said I now need a box to get CH11 ( NH PBS)
and they have no idea why I can't get CH 12. I can get everything OTHER than
CH 11 with a DTV antenna so I'm not going to rewire to have a splitter on
each set for a box/nobox nor rent one for $1.95 each for one channel ... so
do any locals know ....Any stand alone high speed ISP in the area ?

Verizon wants to bundle. Comcast office I COULD get just internet for $59.99
per month but my current bill - WITH TV and internet is $54 per month ! I
told person at office I'm only paying $54 now and she said I am
grandfathered into old plan and once dropped the 'deal' no longer exists.

so looking for alternatives... in the old days lots of dial-ups - curious
if high-speed alternatives exist ... wirelessly ??? and how much $$$ ?? any
good links to list ?

thanks

Comcast is now broadcasting WENH CH11 in digital only. That's why the box
is required. But one good thing is that Comcast is now offering CH11 in HD
if that matters to you. You should have received the notice on your
billing statement a couple months back.
Regarding your question about high speed alternatives, unfortunately since
the CableCos and TeleCos have monopolies in this area there aren't much
alternatives. All I can think of is satellite but you pay much more for
comparitively less bandwith.

In NH we got a separate notice, stating June 1. It was there the
morning of June 1, as advertized (years late, IMHO).

It MAY be available in clear QAM on new sets, but I didn't check, since
I gave up on that and got an HD box after the May 12 changes.
