Worth seeing if you haven't.
BTW, I had just spent three days on horseback locating shuttle wreckage and
human remains and I seriously needed some entertainment. Its a real mess out
there folks.

No reason to see it now.... :-)
Oh, sorry. I blew the ending! But still it is worth seeing. Also Rachel
Ward is in it and she looks awful! What the hell happened to her?
I'll look out for the movie, a good western is hard to find these days and
I'm interested in the Johnson county war. My only problem is the fact that
Rachel Ward is in it. For some reason I could never stand that woman!!

The movie is only loosely based on the Johnson County War. Larry McMurty
wrote and produced the movie. None of the names from the Johnson County War
are used. Tom Berenger is suppose to be Nate Champion, Burt Reynolds -
Frank Canton and Rachel Ward - Ella Watson. It is a good western, but is
not faithful to the actual happenings of the Johnson County War.
We're heart broken over it, too.

Thanks for the comments Steve. I'll almost certainly see the movie although
I'm not a Larry McMurty fan and I find the cast a bit strange but my
tolerance for even bad Westerns is very high. What the heck, there's always
the horses and the scenery.
Dave
She plays a pretty good part though. I never cared much for her either but
you will feel vindicated. :0)
You're right, its not real accurate but more of generality of the way a lot
of those fights started. Still it was entertaining especially when you're
starving for a western you haven't seen a hundred times. I really wish
Berringer had done more westerns.
Hey Todd, basement keeping you warm? Haven't heard from you
in a bit.
LT
well thanks Todd !
Oh I can imagine. I've worked in medicine a long time.
But to just find them in that carnage, oi.
Bless you for helping.
