Hi here Mr Doodle. In 1995 on one of my first motorcycle trips west I
stopped at
Ft Sumner. There is / was a Museum there as well as his grave. I was
just starting my interest in western history and was quit impressed with
the place.
The state of New Mexico I think is just trying to show how much history
they have for the tourist to see. Examples also
like Taos, Santa Fe, Chaco Canyon & the ruins there, as well as Roswell
& Carlsbad.
I imagine your state has places it advertises for tourists also. Later.

I'm happy to see there is at least one other stalwart
still visiting this news group.

FYI, I am a resident of Lincoln county, NM and posted
that item about The Kid for anyone who might be interested.

Mr Doodle, I am jealous. You are in some GREAT country. On the
motorcycle trip I
mentioned I took 252 from Ft Sumner up to 209 and into Tucumcari. Have
been to
Tucumcari several times as I have visited your state & Arizona. Have
also been to Pie Town and across 60 to Az. Have a friend at Ft Defiance.
Have also run 3 up to I-25. Love your state. "Old" Bill
