Finding out more about a spirit

I own a small inn in Northern CA (Russian River Wine Country). We are
experiencing interactions with at least one spirit. We have been told
there is a room under our inn that was used during prohibition. We
think we have at least 1 man and perhaps a woman but we are not sure.
The spirit appears to be playful (at times very helpful) and not
harmful.

What is the best way for us to engage and find out more about our
spirit(s)? We do not wish to banish them but rather to find out how
we can live together without the staff being scared out of their wits
when they are touched by them or odd things happen (doors locking,
unlocking, movement of items, seeing them walk by, etc)

In your case the only way the staff will not be scared out of their
wits is that if you hire the spirits and put them on your monthly
payroll which is not an applicable thing, if you want an honest
opinion sell the place at least in name to someone with a completely
different circumstances and wait to see what happens and please let us
know if new developments occur.
