Olivier is buried in Westminster Abbey, along with Sir Hugh Dowding, King
Henry V, King William III, and General John Burgoyne. '

If you hadn't added that "on screen", David Garrick might have made a
run for the title. I know he played Richard II, Henry V, and Henry
VII, and I think he also played Edward III. If you add the
pseudonymous characters in Absalom and Achitophel, he also played the
Duke of Buckingham and Charles II.
But played on screen...I have a suspicion Olivier might win.

If you'll accept parody portrayals, it might be worth running through Benny
Hill's ouevre...(I thought of Garrick too)....
If you define "same burying place" broadly enough as to mean merely the same
*country*, James Cagney is buried in the same place as Lon Chaney Sr, Admiral
Bull Halsey, and George M Cohan (whom he played twice, which should count for
something)....r

Geez, this is a tough one. I can't think of any offhand (I did think
for a minute that I had one with Will Rogers Jr. and his Dad, but they
were buried in different cemeteries)...
I'll make a stab at the likely locations....one of the LA Area Forest
Lawns (glendale perhaps) or Hollywood Forever Cemetery....I'm guessing
thats one of the more likely places to have actors who have portrayed
other actors.....
Will be interested in any other matches that folks come up with....

I understand that Kevin Bacon has made arrangements so that he's
buried along with *everyone* he's ever played on screen.
Within a degree or two...

In which film did he portray William III?
Olivier also played both Nelson and Wellington, both of whom are
buried at St. Paul's Cathedral a mile or two to the east of
Westminster Abbey.

Peter the Great, TV mini-series.

There are not many notables buried in St Paul's. We need someone who's
buried in Highgate cemetery or Père Lachaise to have any chance. Okay,
who do we know who played Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde and Edith Piaf?
Stephen Fry?

Four foot ten at the most.

Six foot mumbledy, and inconveniently (but thankfully) still alive.

Okay, well we can wait.
Nobody in Cimetičre du Pčre Lachaise comes close. In fact, I couldn't find
one actor there who'd portrayed even one of his "neighbors."

I see. So you've already looked into it.
How odd that you would start a thread asking a question to which you'd
already researched the answer so thoroughly. What's with that, Beav?

I'm sorry Erik, for making that comparison earlier. This guy's is definitely
not you.

You said it, whoever you are. Erik isn't fit to lick my piles clean.
I'm not certain who wrote what here, as M. Hope is relegated to non-direct
appearances on my viewscreen, but in case anyone cares, I didn't start the
thread having researched the answer. I visited Westminster Abbey a couple
of days ago, got to thinking about the juxtaposition of renowned corpses
there, and posted a query. After reading a number of replies which
mentioned Père Lachaise, I dug into who's there and who there has played
whom, and then responded a day or so after my original post.
And for whoever it was who wishes to know "What's with that, Beav?", that's
what's with that. Not that there's anything wrong with posing questions one
already knows the answer to. Seems like a lot of interesting threads get
started that way. But hey, if it twists your nipple, sorry.

Whoa! Digging around cemeteries! ;)
Hey, just about everyone here digs cemeteries.
