There are different helmet makers.
Therefore, some are better than others.
You want to make sure only the *best* is used, right.
Therefore, you eventually will want to outlaw the worst makers,
and only allow the best to sell them.
Therefore, you eventually want to subsidize that one (maybe
two?) helmet maker, to make sure he stays in business.
Therefore, not only do you want to make something that should
be legal (not wearing a helmet), illegal, you then want to outlaw
other makers and/or subsidize (with everybody else's tax money) that
one helmetmaker.
Therefore, you now have done this:
* Violated someone's basic civil liberty to be free from an tyrannical
government (at whatever level of government you insist should make a
law or regulation)
* Outlawed are severely restricted other competitors to innovate and
try to beat the 'best' presently other, inferior helmet makers that
don't meet YOUR personal standard of what is the 'best'
* Stole everybody else's money to finance that one helmet maker who
you PERSONALLY believe is the best to the detriment of everybody else
* Jacked up the cost of helmets (and/or lowered the quality) since the
regulations invariably add costs to the helmet maker(s) they wouldn't
have had to do previously, to satisfy some far-away bureaucrat in
either Washington, DC or in their State
All done by using the Guns of Government just to satisfy your
personal whim on what someone else should do in running their own
personal life in riding a motorcycle.
All because YOU (singularly and plural for everybody, not just you)
want to micromanage someone else's life because YOU believe YOU know
best for them and only want to "help" them, all-the-while allowing
Government to grow, to be more intrusive, arbitrary, while decreasing
everybody else's liberty, personal property, body freedom, and
stealing their labor (wages) to finance everything you think should be
financed by Government,which now makes private enterprise smaller and
gives less goods and services. Government also is good at hiding its
real cost with its numerous,embedded taxes: such as the Feds adding
their 18.4 cents PER GALLON ofgasoline to everybody's bill everytime
they fillup at the pump. And that is only the Feds. Every State adds
*its* fuel tax (MO is 36 cents per gallon, New York is the highest, a
whopping 63 cents per gallon, with Hawaii second-highest at 60 cents,
as of Aug. 2005, adding to its cost to consumers."

life and have little time to butt continuously into others, although
some buttinski's have an obsessive compulsion disorder (OCD) to try to

Run your own life and leave everybody else to do their own

lest you also subsequently suffer when they demand YOU run your life
according to their dictates using the force of GOVERNMENT's GUNS (the
BIGGEST, BADDEST GUNS of all!)."

will cost. Yeah, Medicare was projected to cost "only" $9 bil. by
1990, after it's initial beginning in 1965. The 1990 cost in reality
was a gigantic $45 bil., a 5-fold increase, and it's only skyrocketed
further since into the $ HUNDREDS of BILLIONS every year. It's on a
path to financial self-destruction, and could, along with Social
Insecurity, take the whole society down with it in a massive
hyper-inflationary blowout to "fund" those leviathans.
Any idea on who to blame today for the skyrocketing costs of what used
to be inexpensive medical care (with doctors making personal house
calls!), pre-1965?
I'll give you one guess--and you'd better not opine idiotically it was
"The Free Market" because there hasn't been any such thing since the
Government-gradual-takeover starting in 1965 under [Pres.] Johnson's
"Great Society" crapola promises and continuing with Obama's further
depredations and further debasement of health care and their promises
of vote for me and you'll get it! [You'll get it, all right--right in
the nose and wallet-purse!]

pointed it at the boy who was killing others, and got him to drop his
gun or the boy would have also died along with his victims. Did the
mass media ever report how *that* episode ended peacefully?
Heck, no! The media covered it up (of course!) and ignored the part
*after* the boy killed a couple of classmates--and would have
continued to kill MORE PEOPLE but the private handgun owner, the
vice-principal stopped the killing in showing HIS privately-owned gun
and pointed it at the shooter. Thepolice were a long time away from
getting there, and as usually is the case, they get there WAY AFTER
the damage is done--exactly as they did at Virginia Tech and other
massacres where "guns aren't allowed."
Duh, I guess the shooter(s) either can't read (a distinct possibility
these days, in the dumbed-down government-run schools), or they just
ignore the signs and pull out their guns (with nobody armed close
enough to stop them for a long time) and start another killing field,
leading to morehysterical calls by ignoramuses and the lackey mass
media, for MORE gun control laws that never stopped somebody from
killing someone else.

Those first important 13 words is a DEPENDENT clause
(consult your old English grammar books for the definition) that does
*not*, repeat *not* invalidate the INDEPENDENT clause.
Not only does plain English refute your idiotic nonsense
about "the first 13 words", but every scholarly study on what those 13
words meant *at the time* was to make sure the people's militia, made
up of average recruits in the Colonies (no State militia was even in
existence untilKansas in 1903!), were in "good working order" such as
when you oil your car, or other maintainence, to keep items in working
order. Again, the first 13 words you gun-grabbers, regulators, or
liberty-haters prattle on about incessantly without knowing the
precise legal and scholarly meaning, does NOT invalidate the
INDEPENDENT clause that clearly stands on its own:
