Members of the baby boom generation are, more and more, becoming on
topic. I imagine that some of them are going to give St. Peter a hard
time.

I neglected to mention that when responding by email, please place
"Sixties Research" in the subject title.

Thank you.

I think you might want to say more about who you are and what kind of
project you're involved in.

For instance, are you a Ph.D. student working on a dissertation? a
writer putting together a book on the '60s? a researcher looking for
data for a think tank?

If people have stuff to share, they might want to know this kind of
information.

Fair enough. When I receive an inquiry, I send them the following
explanation:

I am an author who writes a lot about the 1960s, including its
culture, politics, and music. Now that I am approaching age 60, I'm
curious about others from my generation, and how the Sixties shaped
their lives.

I am seeking written responses from people who were born between 1940
- 1960. These responses can be a paragraph, a couple of pages, in the
form of an essay, or even a quick "off the cuff" reaction. It doesn't
make any difference as to length or style. However, if you could
please keep to topic, and discuss your life, and how it was influenced
by your experiences and background during the Sixties. Here are some
suggestions of areas relevant for discussion.

Lifestyle, Career/Occupation, Education, Religion/Ethics/Values,
Politics, War/Military/Peace, Love/Romance, Marriage/Family/Children,
Affiliations/Clubs/Organizations, Music/Arts/Theater, Leisure/Hobbies.

Please place "Sixties Research" in the subject title, and send your
written responses to:

You also neglected to mention your name. You're asking for a lot of
personal information to be sent to a nameless, faceless Yahoo e-mail account
or sent to nameless, faceless post office box.

Sending you this, or any, information does not sound like a good idea.

I'm sorry that you are suspicious about this.

I have done other research like this before, and have not had a
problem.

I will be glad to respond to individuals with more information to
their inquiries.
