Someone posted a MySpace bulletin that Manuel Padilla Jr., who played the boy Jai on the 1960s TV series TARZAN and who had a role in AMERICAN GRAFFITI, has died at 51. I cannot find anything in any news outlet about this. Anyone have anything on their radar screens?

Following up: This news was originally posted on Paul Le Mat's MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/paullemat ). Le Mat and Padilla worked together in AMERICAN GRAFFITI. What Le Mat ostensibly wrote was: "I'm very sadden by the the loss of a wonderful friend in Manuel Padilla, Jr., who was in American Graffiti & many other movies & TV shows. He will be missed by all of us. R.I.P. my friend."

Manuel is my cousin, he passed away on 1/29/2008. His services were today in Burbank, CA and he has entered eternity. He is loved by his two parents, one brother, four children and many other family and friends. Manuel was best remembered for his role in the Tarzan series; however, he was in many other movies such as American Graffiti and Scarface to name a few.

That's sad. I remember the 'Tarzan' series, starring Ron Ely, from my childhood. If memory serves me right, didn't Manuel also have a recurring role on Sally Field's "Flying Nun" series, as the son or newphew of the casino owner, Carlos (Alejandro Rey)?
