Irma W. Lindquist, widow of former Wichita State University president
Emory Lindquist, died Sunday at the age of 97.

Emory Lindquist was president from 1963 to 1968, when WSU joined the
state system. A building that houses liberal arts and science programs
was named after the couple in 1992.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Christians
Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington in Lindsborg. A memorial service is
scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Bethany Home, 321 N. Chestnut
in Lindsborg.

Memorials have been established with Bethany College, 335 E. Swensson
St., Lindsborg, KS 67456, and the Irma Lindquist Fund at Wichita State
University Foundation, 1845 Fairmount, Wichita, KS 67260-0002.
