Marco Blanco plunged to his death
An actor was kicked and punched before falling off a balcony to his
death at a party attended by troubled rock star Pete Doherty, it was
claimed.
Mark Blanco, 30, was reportedly attacked before plunging from a second
floor balcony at a block of flats in Whitechapel, East London, on
Saturday night, according to friends.
Blanco was said to have been speaking to Doherty in the evening about
a new role he had landed, ironically about a man who fell to his death
from a police station balcony, called the Accidental Death of An
Anarchist.

Detectives say they are trying to trace everyone who was at the
gathering and may interview Doherty as part of the investigation.
One friend of the Cambridge graduate said he did not fit in with some
of the 'unsavoury characters' at the party.
There is no indication that the boyfriend of Kate Moss was involved.
Mark was taken to the Royal London hospital after the fall, where he
was put on life support but he lost his battle for life on Monday.
A close friend of the amateur actor, comedian Jerry Sadowitz said: 'He
should not have been there. He was at a party surrounded by unsavoury
characters who took a dislike to him because of his background. He
didn't fit in a place like that.'
Mr Sadowitz continued, claimed the actor suffered from vertigo and
ruled out Mr Blanco jumping himself saying, 'I knew him too well and
know he would have never of done such a thing.'
'It appears he was kicked and punched because he had so many broken
bones and he had bruises everywhere. It was as though he had been
punched several times. His hat was also found near him and it had been
burned. He did not deserve to die this way. I'm so angry. The police
need to do all they can to find out what happened that night.'
'He was a brilliant man. A good man.'
Mr Blanco's mother Sheila, a teacher from Guilford, said the family
were 'distraught'. Last night she was being supported by her husband
and daughter Emma.
