CBS News tonight reported the death of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.

Ahh... here's one that I'm taking a bit personally. His art made a great
impression on me -- so much so that I still remember where and when I saw
the first one. It was so unexpected to see a "cartoon" translated to
canvas and hung on a gallery wall.

When I go to our local gallery, I always visit his work for a little bit
and it still stands out so much from the rest. A strange art concept,
yes, but one that made an impression on me for quite a few decades.
