Subject: Sir John Michael Hungerford Pollen, 7th Baronet, (1919-2003)
Sir John Pollen, 7th Baronet, of The Manor House, Rodbourne,
Malmesbury, Wiltshire, died at Malmesbury Hospital, 13  February,
2003, aged 83.

He was born 6 April, 1919, only son of Lt-Cdr John Francis Hungerford
Pollen, RN, eldest son of Capt Francis Gabriel Hungerford Pollen, CBE,
RN, 4th son of John Hungerford Pollen, younger brother of the 3rd
Baronet.

He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his kinsman in 1959.

Sir John was educated at Downside and Merton College, Oxford.

Career: Captain, Royal Artillery.

He married firstly, 1941, [divorced 1956], Angela Mary Oriana, who
died in 1990, daughter of Major Felix John Russi, MC, 5th Royal
Inniskilling Dragoon Guards; married secondly, 1957, Mrs Diana Alice
Jubb, daughter of A.E. Trimbrell, she died in 1995.

Sir John leaves a son and a daughter from his first marriage. The son,
Richard, b. 3 November, 1946, now succeeds to the baronetcy.

The funeral takes place at St Aldhelm's, Malmesbury, 22 February,
2003.
