An 85-year-old woman who died after a home invasion was sexually
assaulted and her 90-year-old husband was shot with a BB gun as they
were beaten and robbed, a police report shows.

The couple was attacked in their home in the 3300 block of East Virgin
Street sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday, Tulsa police said.

Nancy Strait died at St. John Medical Center about 7:30 p.m. Thursday,
police said. Her husband, Bob Strait, remained in serious condition.

A medical exam showed that Nancy Strait had been sexually assaulted and
police found Bob Strait with a wound on his face caused by a BB gunshot,
the police report shows.

Both had blunt-force trauma to their heads, the report says.

A 2001 Dodge Neon, a 42-inch television and $200 were stolen from the
house, according to the report.

Police arrested Tyrone Dale David Woodfork about 2 p.m. Thursday after a
witness reported spotting the stolen car in the 3500 block of East
Fourth Street. Police pulled it over near 5700 E. Easton St. and a man
fled into a nearby house.

Officers surrounded the house and took Woodfork and three others into
custody for questioning. It was not clear whether the others were
arrested, but Tulsa Jail records list Woodfork as the only person booked
on a murder complaint Thursday.

Residents told officers that Woodfork, who turns 20 Sunday, had visited
their house in a Dodge Neon about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and had an
assortment of women's jewelry and cash, his arrest report says.

Another witness told police that Woodfork sold him a 42-inch television
Wednesday for $250 at a Shell gas station at 6500 W. Charles Page Blvd.,
according to the report.

Woodfork was booked into the Tulsa Jail without bail on complaints of
first-degree murder, burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon and two
complaints of armed robbery.

He is set to be on probation until 2014 for two 2011 convictions of
second-degree burglary and another of false declaration of ownership in
a pawn shop, according to Department of Corrections records.

The daughter of Nancy and Bob Strait had found the couple unresponsive
on the floor of their house about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The daughter had visited them about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the robbery
could have happened any time between those visits, police said.
