Norman Arthur Menard, 83, of Royal Oak, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007,
at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in
LaSalle, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Menard was predeceased by brothers, Hank and Chuck Menard.
Norm "Dearest Papa" will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Linda;
children, Richard (Kathleen) Steensma of Blue Springs, Mo., Jennifer
(Stephen) Olko of Lapeer, Donna (Winston) Bailey of Midland;
granddaughters, Emily, Taylor, Sarah, Jordan, Anna and Wendy;
grandson, Stoney; sisters, Marce Renaud and Ritz Bergeron; and special
caregivers, Richard and Sara Firchau, Carl and Kathy Firchau, Gwen
Demers and Connie Giglio.
Norm leaves many memories with his family and dearest friends. He
proudly served in The Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. He was
an electrician for Ford Motor Co., and was park manager for the
Caseville County Park in Caseville. He was an accomplished pilot and
proud that he had both his Canadian and American pilot's licenses.
Besides his love for airplanes, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting,
fishing and camping.
Per Norm's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will
be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Royal Oak,
with Pastor Jeremy Schultz officiating. Memorial contributions to
Beaumont Hospice.
