None of them. As long as they cling to that which is given, they will see no reason not to continue 'business-as-usual'. They are "doublethink" people (recall Jimmy Swaggart's railings against porn and hos while being unable to resist either).

It's also known as "Reaction Formation." Their lies to themselves are never recognized so when they are scolded, they insist they are being persecuted by the real offenders.

Obviusly, quite a lot of people, or he wouldn't have gotten NEARLY as far as he did in 2012. Which is why people who want to keep birth control available for themselves and the public had - and have - every reason to be very leery of a GOP that didn't see fit to disown Santorum much earlier.

As more than one person in the media pointed out, the Democrats were DROOLING at the prospect of a Santorum nomination. Here are a couple:

conservativehaven.com/3-reasons-why-democrats-are-drooling-over-the-santorum-rise-in-iowa
(I can't read it right now, but it's almost certainly not Democrat-friendly)

Anyway, I very much doubt he would have done any better than Romney, as was suggested here. But again, the fact that he got as far as he did is pretty alarming.

Speak of the devil....

http://www.politicususa.com/house-republicans-threaten-shut-government-women-denied-contraception.html

By Rmuse Mar. 14th, 2013

First half:

It is not uncommon for people to repeat particular behaviors based on their life experience and environment to the point their actions and way of thinking becomes an ethos unto itself. People familiar with convicted felons recognize that the high rate of recidivism is based on a deeply entrenched culture that criminal behavior is normal and following accepted societal norms for behavior is foreign. For the past four years Republicans have adopted a style of governance that informs their obstructionism and hostage-taking, although outside political norms, has become part of their culture that doesn’t bode well for Americans or the government. This week, House Republicans proposed they will shut down the government unless they are allowed to restrict women’s access to contraception that defines their culture that governance entails threats to impose religion on government and the people.

On Tuesday, in advance of negotiations for a continuing resolution to prevent a government shutdown before March 27, fourteen Republicans wrote to Republican leadership demanding that the continuing resolution must repeal the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act. The Republicans also introduced (again) a bill to repeal the mandate to make their point that religious employers’ divine right to control women’s reproductive health, and their wont to inject religious dogmata into law, will be enforced under threat of holding government funding as a hostage.

Republicans used the absurd “religious liberty” argument to oppose contraception coverage since the President announced it was part of the Affordable Care Act, and they are again demanding that religious employers be allowed to exercise their religious liberty by denying women access to birth control. The legislators wrote that “This attack on religious freedom demands immediate congressional action. Nothing short of a full exemption for both nonprofit and for-profit entities will satisfy the demands of the Constitution and common sense” that means Christian fundamentalists demand the right to control women’s reproductive health. It is likely the religious freedom advocates are demanding contraception coverage repeal in support of craft store chain, Hobby Lobby, whose owners defied a court ruling in late December to provide copay-free birth control access to its employees. Apparently Hobby Lobby’s owner believes the law, judicial system, and women’s right to control their reproductive health is the purview of his religious inclinations, and Republicans are providing their support with threats to withhold funding for the government........

CPAC Women's Panel Fights 'Sexist' Obamacare and 'Liberal Indoctrination Camps'
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Friday, 3/15/2013 5:00 pm

At a conference which literally banned a gay group from participating, blogger Crystal Wright during CPAC’s panel on women’s issues called on right-wing activists to “come out of the closet” as conservatives and fight the liberal elites.

Following Wright’s bold declaration, author Kate Obenshain said that the entire education system, “pre-school all the way to college to post-graduate work,” is one big “liberal indoctrination camp” that convinces women to reject marriage in order to go about life “determined to find evidence of sexism everywhere they turn.”

Naturally, columnist Katie Kieffer later called Obamacare “sexist” because it expands access to birth control, which she believes lets men get women pregnant or give women STDs without feeling any responsibility. “Obamacare is sexist because it puts guys off the hook,” Kieffer explained, “all he has to do is say, oh that’s not my fault you should have been using Obama’s free birth control.”

(Followed by a short video - under two minutes.)

Indeed. And the idea goes double for some of the other loons in the recent
GOP field (basically, as Brad Ferguson implied, everyone *except* Romney was
a full out, certifiable loon). In fact, I remember well when Herman Cain
was leading the field (wow...) and then started hitting some bumps along the
road. The Conservaloons in these newsgroups started alleging a Democratic
party based plot out to get Mr. Cain. I pointed out that that was so far
beyond absurd that I couldn't believe I was reading it (and that's saying
something for stuff posted in newsgroups by Conservaloons). I pointed out
that the Democrats would absolutely *love* to have Cain be the nominee.
He's even crazier than Frosty Santorum.

Umm, that's "Frothy." (grin) As created, more or less, by Dan Savage.

(Though while I enjoy Savage's columns - sometimes - it saddens me that Democrats keep turning a blind eye to the never-ending, very rude behavior by so many Democrats who are not actual politicians - not to mention those who are! But in Savage's case, one can't very well expect him to adhere to Miss Manners' standards, exactly. Right now, I'd be very happy if all Democrats would learn to think and talk more like Wendy Kaminer. I can't remember HER ever using four-letter words.)

I'm sure you haven't been keeping up with Mark Sanford very closely of
late. He came in first in the Republican primary yesterday to fill
the seat of Rep. Tim Scott, who was appointed to the senate to serve
out the remainder of Jim DeMint's term. But because he didn't get 50%
of the vote (out of a field of 16), there will be a run-off in a
couple of weeks. I cannot believe the people of SC (at least in the
1st Congressional district) would be willing to elect him to any
public office again.
