Travelites' pool party/potluck lunch report & upcoming

Travelites' potluck lunch was once more a funtastic time. The
occasional liquid sunshine didn’t deter the laughter and upbeat
atmosphere. The pool (a bit chilly) was visited as was the hot tub
(nice and warm). Paul makes a fantastic cheeseburger (we had the
choice of 3 different kinds of cheese), and the hot dogs were pretty
good too. The variety of accompaniments was superb. The dessert
choices were definitely chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate with some
Mayfield napoleon ice cream on the side.

Big thanks to our hosts for making this event as great as it was and
look forward to again getting with good friends.

I’m putting in an order for 5 more name tags. They are neat – a great
way to not forget a name- a plastic circle with the club logo and your
first name. The cost should you want one is $10 and includes a
chain.

All but 2 have paid for their auction items. As soon as these pledges
are received, I can send the donations to the various organizations we
help support.

Travelites’ next event will be our annual Oktoberfest, Beer & Wine
Tasting at Lynn’s in Greenville, SC – fun begins at @ 4:30. We’ll be
enjoying a Bavarian themed potluck supper as well as the different
beers and wines those in attendance will be bringing. I’ll be
bringing 3 ounce tasting cups. If you need directions, please let me
know when you RSVP with what you’ll be bringing.

The following event will be Founder's Day celebration (my birthday
party) beginning at 4pm at our property with snacks and appetizers.
At about 6, we'll be carpooling to a Mexican Restaurant less than 10
miles away after which we'll be returning to our place for birthday
cake, ice cream, and more hot tubbing. Please let me know if you'll
be meeting us at Casa Linda or at our home. There are no event fees
for this event.
