wondering whether the noise crew has thoughts on michael snow's music/sound
projects?

some subjectivities found elsewhere:
......................
"Snow's music, as Carl Brown has already pointed out, has involved a 50
year exploration, but perhaps as often in that branch of sound
experimentation called 'noise' as compared with 'music' (although Snow
also belongs to that longer tradition). I heard Snow play a piano
synthesizer with another young artist at the No Music festival in London,
Ontario (the festival switched this yaer to NYC) and it was extraordinary.
But I can't even begin to think of criteria--beyond some kind of
experiential intensity--to apply to judge it as 'good' or 'bad.' An
illuminating quotation from Snow: he once described an ecstatic moment of
improvisation with CCMC during which he said something like, "I think we
almost achieved complete chaos for a second there.""
.......................................
"another major recording, also vaguely related to [his film] "Rameau's
Nephew" is "Musics for Piano, Whistling, Microphone and Tape Recorder"
which is a 2 disk set that dates from 1975. In its original vinyl
form I believe it's a prohibitively expensive collector's item; its CD
reissue is cheaper but still rather expensive since it has been offered as
a limited edition."
