Spaska Mitrova has won in the Gevgelija court the firts round
[Focus news agency, November 3rd, 2009]
The human and civil rights activist Spaska Mitrova has won the
first round in the Gevgelija court about the custody of her baby
daughter Suzana. As known she has been thrown behind bars
of Idrizovo prison for three months because she did not provide a
bed for her ex-husband Voislav Savich, when he has visited their
baby in the house of the parents of Spaska. She has been released
after serving almost the whole verdict after all
Bulgarian members of the European Parliament have signed a
letter to the European commissar for the enlargement Mr Olli Rehn
about the case.
Spaska Mitrova has three verdicts for one and the same
"illegal act" - not providing a shelter for her ex-husband in the
house that is not her possession - the house of her parents -
1) one verdict of three months, that she had to take in one of the
most dreadful prisons in Macedonia - Idrizovo, used in the
time of Tito for the political prisoners; 2) one verdict of six
months on probation; and 3) one verdict of eight months
efectively but under condition. Her baby daughter has been
taken by the police and given to her husband without decision
of the court and until now she has not seen her.
The ex-husband of Spaska has protested the early release
of Spaska from the prison and insisted the six months
verdict to be changed from probation to be effective. But the
attorney of Spaska - the former Minister of Internal Affairs
of Macedonia - Mr Ljubomir Mihajlovski menaged to
overthrow before the Gevgelija court the claim of Voislav Savich
on 3rd of November.
The custody of the baby would be decided later. Now the attorney
Mihajlovski is working about a permit Spaska to see
the baby.
