BAGHDATIS AUSTRALIA SEMI FINALS
Cypriot tennis player Marcos Baghdatis exhibited one of his best
performances so far on Australian ground and knocked Australian Lleyton
Hewitt out of the MediBank International Sydney, with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
quarter-final victory.
Baghdatis started the match being down 1-3, came back saving two set
points at 4-5 of the first set. However, he did not manage to gain the
break point and bring the game to 5-5, losing the first set 6-4. From
then and on, it was the Cypriot champion who took control of the game,
winning the next two sets easily 6-2 and 6-3 and the ticket to the
semi-finals of the tournament.
Baghdatis will now face the winner of the game between Australian Peter
Luczak and American Mardy Fish.
