Subject: Continuing Public Lynching Of A Grieving Black Father In Los Angeles, Police Raid On Petition Signature Gathering Table in Public Park
Mr. Shaw is the father of a young man killed by an illegal alien gang
member.  After the murder, he spoke out about the fact that the
murderer was an illegal alien gang member and had been released from
police custody just 12 hours earlier despite being eligible for
deportation.

This is in direct opposition to LA Mayor Antonio VivaLaRaza's pro-
illegal alien, sanctuary policies.

Mr. Shaw was warned by The City District Attorney's Office to 'shut
up' and stop pursuing justice for his son.  He was told that if he
didn't back off, his honor student son would be painted as a gang
member.
He didn't back off and a week later, his son was painted as a gang
member for having a red Spider Man backpack.

Now Mr. Shaw has begun a petition drive to get Jamiel's Law on the
ballot, which would require that criminals in custody be checked for
their immigration status.

Yesterday, his table at a public park in Los Angeles was raided by the
police.  In addition to several police cars, and a  helicopter there
were also people from the Health Department to tell him he couldn't
give away free bottled water.  The Department of Parks and Recreation
was there to tell him he could not exercise his rights as a citizen to
collect signatures on public property and a garbage truck was there to
take his table and petitions away!

One police officer admitted their raid on his rights as a US citizen
HAD BEEN PLANNED FOR A WEEK.

There has been a COMPLETE PRESS BLACKOUT IN LOS ANGELES.  Stories
about ethnic cleansing of blacks or parents who fight back like this
don't fit into their happy sanctuary city dream world.  Please help
spread the word and call your media to find out why they aren't
covering it.

Mrs. Shaw is a soldier fighting in Iraq.  She was able to come home
for the funeral, but she has been sent back to her unit in the Middle
East.

Sunday, August 17th, the Los Angeles Police Department (Southwest
Division), Sanitation Department, Parking Enforcement, General
Services, the Health Department, Motorcycle Officers and a Helicopter,
raided Leimert Park located on the corner of 43rd Place and Crenshaw
Blvd. Leimert Park is a well-known park in the black community.

Every Sunday, The Shaw Family and supporters of Jamiel's Law, come to
Leimert Park from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to get signatures to put
Jamiel's Law on the March 3, 2009 ballot. We have our Jamiel's Law T-
shirts on and we have Jamiel's Law petitions. We started doing this
June 29th and we have been there every Sunday.

We usually barbecue and give away free hot dogs, chips and sodas, as a
way of saying, "Thank You", to the people supporting us. But today,
the family had a party for Thomas (the younger brother of murdered
victim, Jamiel Shaw, II), at a different location, so we just had
drinks and chips for the kids.

Suddenly, the park was surrounded with Los Angeles Police Officers.
Some in plain clothes and some in uniform. At least 7 or 8 black and
white cars and a couple of police vans, if not more. They started with
our family. Asking for identification and asking for our social
security numbers. We showed our identification, but we refused to give
our social security numbers to the Police Officer. The officer was not
happy with this and said, "You know, I could give you a ticket for
blocking the sidewalk".
