of cyberspace were in an uproar over Glenn Beck and threatening
to boycott his advertisers. They even announced umpteen hundred
and ninety-seven (well, it seemed like it) successful terrorizations of
Glenn Beck sponsors. This came as news to many of the named
advertisers, who denied they were boycotting Beck. At best (or
worst!) they were switching to other FOX News shows and waiting
for the Beck furor to blow over.
UPS / The UPS Store was the loons' showcase victory, having
according to their claims been the one advertiser to stop all FOX
News advertising. A UPS spokesperson had specifically denied
they were doing that, but why would loons bother with facts when
making crap up?
Anyway, the last few days one could run across all kinds of UPS
Store ads on FOX. So their FOX breather seems to have ended
pretty quick. Being a customer of The UPS Store myself, I won't
have to not renew and take my business elsewhere. :-) I didn't
notice any UPS ads on Beck, but there was an Allstate one and
a wide range of others from boycott-proof, paying advertisers
who apparently don't discriminate against the color of the large
Fox viewership's money.
Speaking of, Beck's ratings are through the roof and setting new
highs. Yesterday Beck had over 3 million viewers, almost double
CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined. He was also #2 on FOX
after O'Reilly, who was #1 based on his 8 pm showing alone and
had a combined 5.5+ million viewers for his 8 and 11 showings.

Beck's ratings were boosted yesterday by another in the ACORN
scandal series, with Hannity having the latest installment tonight. The
Senate this week voted overwhelmingly to defund ACORN, and
along with voter fraud and criminal convictions in multiple states the
misbehavior portfolio being built up by Obama's former client is
becoming quite "impressive". There are calls for RICO investigations.
Elsewhere, Green Jobs Czar Van Jones is... well, elsewhere now.
You may have missed that and the ACORN news, or got it very
late, if you don't watch FOX News. Which is why more and more
people are watching FOX News, eh?
But now's not the time for gloating. :-) Beck, Fox and their
viewers could afford some magnanimity in victory now. Perhaps
have a raffle for the boycotters, sponsored by one or more of
Big Pharma's erectile dysfunction prescription product lines.
Winner(s) might get a lifetime supply of Viagra or Cialis, their
choice.
