I'm terminally bored at work today, so I thought I'd drum up some
traffic here.

Feeding off of the "what are you wearing?" thread, what is your
favorite article of clothing and why?

Favorite color?

Favorite movie?

For me, I'd have to say my gray heather cashmere sweather because it
is sooo comfortable and I always feed good when I wear it. My
favorite color is blue as evidenced by my wardrobe which is basically
blue and white with some khaki and black thrown in. My favorite movie
is tough, but I'd probably go with "When Harry Met Sally," since I
could watch it over and over.

Anyone else?

Well, right now, I don't really have one that I actually wear. My favorite
article of clothing is a really really old pair of jeans, from high
school, which saw me all the way through college even, becoming more and
more threadbare, and which I have embroidered with all kinds of crazy
stuff including smiley faces, peace signs, the Cal logo, flowers, etc.
They don't fit and if they did they'd probably fall apart if I wore them
anyway. But that is my favorite article of clothing.

Of the things I can actually wear - I think my fleece bathrobe is the
favorite at this time :)

*Favorite color?

Lavender

*Favorite movie?

I don't know anymore. For the longest time, it was Pete's Dragon. Oh, and
I also really loved "The Champ." But these days? Gosh. No idea. I'll
probably see other replies and be sitting here thinking "oh, yeah, that
one is great! OOoooh, that one, that one!" as I read them :)

I don't have any one set favourite - it varies with my mood. I've had a
hand made, scarlet, gorgeous fisherman's rib jumper for years, and I
love it. It alwys cheers me up to wear it, and makes me feel warm inside
and out. Red fleece. Yellow, red and dark green hand made knitted
jumper. I'm sensing a theme here. I like clothes that keep me warm and
cosy. Furry black hat and scarf. Comfy black trousers from Benetton that
I'll wear until they disintegrate.

>
>Favorite color?

Again, depends on my mood. If you mean to wear, I like vivid clothes
teamed with black. Yellow makes me feel good. Not stressful, just
energetic and creative. I love orange (in moderation) and red. Purple.
Clear blues. I'm not keen on pastels. Green, I wear rarely.

>
>Favorite movie?

Hmm. Three Colours Red, directed by Kieslowski. Mermaids. Truman Show.
Ice Cold in Alex. English Patient.

OK, I confess. I can't choose one favourite for anything! I'll be
thinking of my favourite films for the night now :)

I know I'm going to like this thread! I love reading about what other
people like, and why.

I don't think I could have survived this winter without them.

My cream 3/4 length sleeved cotton cabled sweater. I wear it very rarely
because it's too warm for summer and too cold for winter. With jeans it's
casual and sexy, with my linen skirt I look put together. It was a total
impulse buy last spring when I tried it on with this linen outfit I was
buying. DH's jaw dropped, so I bought it. ;)

Runner up is my black cardigan. I wear it all year round, it's sleek (or
as sleek as something fuzzy can be) and shows off my curves but not too
much. I've been wanting to wear it for 2 weeks now, but it was in the
wash. Tomorrow it rejoins my wardrobe!

I don't have a single favorite, but most of my favorite movies are silly
and relaxing. Muppet Treasure Island, Ferris Bueller, Princess Bride, Real
Genius, Monsters Inc, and The Full Monty. They all make me laugh.

This one is easy. I have an old Naval Academy sweatshirt - one of the official
ones that the midshipmen are issued, not the fake ones from the gift shop. It
used to have a hood but that was cut off years ago. The first time I washed it,
it caught on the thing in the middle of the washer (the agitator?) and ripped
right down the middle of the front - I tried patching it by sewing all of the
little starnds of material together. The cuffs at the sleeves are ripped. It's
way too big for me (XXL) and I love it to death. It's so warm and comfy and
wonderful. It's 13 years old.

>Favorite color?

Red. Bright cherry red. I don't wear a lot of red and I don't have red in my
house. It's still my favorite.

Bringing Up Baby. Just the thought of Cary Grant chasing George (Asta) around
the bushes is enough to start me laughing.

Fun!

I'm going to be super boring - it's a tossup between my favorite jeans
and the oodles of white tshirts that I have. They go with everything
and are comfy. Other than that, I'd say that my very favorite piece
of clothing right now is a super comfy pair of PJ pants that I got to
Xmas. Very soft, fit just right, don't move around when I'm sleeping,
and look nice enough to lounge in.

Hmmm. Tricky one, since I'm not really wearing any of my "normal"
wardrobe at the moment! Ooh, I know - a brightly coloured fleecy
shirt thing that I bought ages ago (about 8 - 10 years ago!) which
goes over a t-shirt and is half-way between a cardigan and a coat in
warmth. It's great for sort of "in between" weather.

I can't think of any one piece of clothing that is really a favorite.
Right now, I'm down to a limited wardrobe, and I wear what is
comfortable. Even in my regular (non-maternity, non-nursing)
wardrobe, I can't think of any one item that I absolutely love.

Purple has always been my favorite color.

I can't really think of one movie that is my all time favorite. i
love watching movies and will even watch the crappy ones if I have the
opportunity (I must admit, I watched Glitter (bad Mariah Carey movie)
a few weeks ago just because it was on HBO or Cinemax).

My stock answer for this is Snow White - because it was the first full
length animated feature. But in reality, it isn't my favorite movie.

Good question. I have one sweatshirt that's my comfort sweat, but I
wouldn't wear that to work. I have a favorite for each style of
dressing. A favorite pair of jeans (blue, TH), a favorite pair of
dress pants (black, Jacob), but I can't say I have a particular
favorite.

Don't have one. Seriously. How about not pink?

Wow, I haven't seen that in ages. I should rent it again.

I think I'll have to go with Fight Club. Brilliant movie.

Me too! I have my TiVo set to auto-record every Danny Kaye film, and
as a result, I've gotten to see some classics again (Wonder Man,
The Court Jester, Walter Mitty, The Inspector General, Hans Christian
Andersen), as well as a couple I'd never seen (Merry Andrew, with
Pier Angeli, or the Disneyland 25th anniversary special, hosted by
DKaye, when MJackson still had a nose).

I love Danny Kaye!

I used to love that movie - I had the album and used to sing the songs all
the time. I don't know your opinion of Harry Potter, but I was avoiding it
since I'm not generally into Sci Fiction/Fantasy stuff. I checked out the
book on tape read by Jim Dale and got hooked! He's done them all and he does
such a great job.

Currently my Lands' End all weather mocs - they're comfortable and they keep

Don't really have a favorite - tend to get a lot in one color and then
switch to something else when I get bored. I currently gravitate toward
purple.

Hmmm. The ones I could watch over and over are _Guess Who's Coming to

Ooh, which color? Also, did you find that they run true to size? I'm
thinking of getting a pair, but my feet are a bit smaller than my size
(I wear 11 usually, but would probably be a 10.75 if such a size
existed). Have fun in Florida!

If anything, I think they run big. I wish I'd ordered a half
size smaller than my normal size, but it didn't bother me enough

Toughie. The first things that pop into mind are dresses that I love, but
that's probably because I can't wear them due to nursing, so it's a "want what
you can't have" thing. So I'd have to go with my black pencil skirt. It's
comfy (knit rayon jersey), can be paired with lots of other stuff I have to
look professional and works for evenings too, but dresses down well, it doesn't
wrinkle (packs well), and I always feel like I look great in it.

My favorite piece of winter clothing currently is a beige sweater made
of Merino wool. It's just the right warmth and fits nicely. DH likes
it, too, as he says it accentuates my b**bs.

much a pastel person.

My favorite article of clothing changes often. :-) Currently, it's my
chocolate-brown, v-neck, 3/4 sleeve silk/cashmere blend sweater that I
got for $4.99 (!) at The Limited. It's *so* soft, it's just warm enough
to wear on those cool-but-not-cold days (like today!), and it is flattering.

> Favorite color?

You know, I really don't have one -- I dislike orange, but other than
that it's hard to say what my favorite is...it depends on my mood, the
time of year.... In terms of clothing, I tend towards neutrals (esp.
blacks and browns), and in house decorating everything would be blue and
green if I didn't stop myself -- but really, there's no favorite.

> Favorite movie?

I don't have one. If you forced me to pick just one, the first thing
that comes to mind is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, but like lots
of others have said, I have too many "favorites" to just choose one.
