Help! I have my second interview tomorrow at the library and I have no
idea what to wear.

For the first interview, I wore a chocolate-brown-and-black herringbone
patterned pantsuit (it was VERY cold; I didn't want to wear a skirt!)
with a black ribbed turtleneck. DH thinks I should wear the suit again
tomorrow (I only have one that fits me at the moment). I think that I
can get away with dress pants or skirt and a nice blouse, especially
since that it much more in line with what I would be expected to wear to
work. That gives me a lot more options, too -- I only have the one
suit, but quite a few pants, skirts, and blouses to choose from.

To add a kink to the works, I twisted my knee badly while shoveling snow
this morning and I don't think I'm going to be able to handle wearing my
"suit shoes" since they're heeled. My only non-heeled shoe option is my
black leather lace-up ankle boots (they have snow treads on the bottom
but they're not clunky at all, just not something one normally would
wear with a suit or similar outfit). Especially considering that we
have 2+ feet of snow on the ground and I have a *very* noticeable limp,
I think I might be able to get away with wearing those boots with pants.
Thoughts?

Ack. I am seriously stressing over this! Help!

I think pants/boots/sweater is fine....I can't remember what type of
library this is, but that type of outfit is way more dressy than what I
wore to my last interview (a little over a year ago...) ...a brown knit
skirt/sweater outfit with tights, socks (yes, but my feet get really
cold!) and ankle boots....mind you, this is the PNW, but I think what
you have will be good....especially with the injury....

Congratulations!

Dark dress pants, blouse if you have a jacket, a dark-ish sweater or
twin-set if you don't. Jewelry. Your boots (if I were interviewing you and
you showed up in heels with a limp, I'd think you were a moron. Especially
if there's a ton of snow/slush on the ground).

I personally think that for a second interview, it's perfectly appropriate
to show up as though you are already on staff, to demonstrate that you'll
fit in.

Good luck!!

I agree with you, and I wouldn't wear one of the pieces from the suit again
since they're patterned rather than a basic solid color. I'd probably go with
black or navy dress pants and a twinset or sweater-and-blazer (with either the
sweater or the blazer, or possibly both, being the same color as the pants).

If you're limping noticeably, you're presumably going to mention why to the
interviewer(s), so I don't see any problem with wearing the dressiest-possible
comfortable shoes.
