Wavy G
newsgroups a little better, then pay attention. I have traveled acrossed
the furthest reaches of Usenet and visited just about every group there is.
So, using my vast knowledge and experience, I have compiled for yous a list
of the newsgroups and a brief summary of each! Enjoy.
alt.tv.real-world - Me and my friends post funny stuff and talk about
whatever is on our minds! And screw you.
alt.music.pink-floyd - Not really a "Pink Floyd" newsgroup, per se (That's
Latin). Its more of a loose collection of over-the-hill headcases and
burn-outs. Actually, I am rather impressed that these guys can make their
way over to the keyboard and establish a dial-up connection.
alt.cellular.verizon - In case you're curious, this is for people who want
to discuss their Verizon cellular phones. Now, you may go commit suicide.
alt.tv.red-dwarf - You would think that a newsgroup devoted to a hip, funny
alternative British comedy programme would be populated with hip, funny
alternative British comedy fans -- YOU'D BE WRONG THOUGH! These
netiquette-nerds could give the Nazis a run for their money. Come on in and
make a post, and then watch as the barrage of insults and plonkings come
your way!
alt.fan.harry-potter - With the success of the new movie, it would seem
like an off-topic post would go unnoticed amongst the daily drool and
dribble that's posted here. Wrong again. The 12-year-old social deviates,
as well as the occasional middle-aged perv, who make up the general populous
here, will report you to everyone including their Mommies.
alt.writing - Are you an aspiring young writer? Then post your work here,
and other aspiring writers (who are coincidentally accomplished critics)
will critique it for you! (Also try misc.writing, and
misc.writing.screenplays.)
alt.tv.felicity - I am the only one I know of who posts here. (p.s. What is
"Felicity"?)
alt.fan.karl-malden.nose, alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk, alt.romath,
etc. - Every troll owes a bit of homage to these guys. They're legendary
trolls. And they'll be the first to mention it to you too.
alt.snuh - Dean Humphries and his gang of sock-puppets say "Snuh" over and
over, and its funny.
alt.tv.dawsons-creek - Hmm. Probably a good place to pick up underage
chicks. Then again, its probably a sting operation to catch guys trying to
pick up underage chicks.
alt.music.ween - An elitist musical clique, (an elitist musical clique of
"Ween" fans at that), who gather to discuss their mutual hatred of every
band who's currently popular, or who's ever been popular, or who ever may
possibly be popular. Fun, huh.
alt.tv.road-rules - For the people who are tired of the off-topic subject
matter posted in alt.tv.real-world, you can come here and enjoy the silence.
alt.religion.scientology - Don't be fooled. L. Ron Hubbard started this
phony newsgroup to dupe mindless drones and to sell more books. Save your
energy and post something to alt.I.am.an.idiot instead.
alt.tv.big-brother - A newsgroup for the die-hard fans of the hit show "Big
Brother" -- Which "died hard" (lol) after the first season ended and they
all split.
alt.tv.survivor - See alt.tv.big-brother.
alt.music.pearl-jam - Tired of the hustle-bustle of the modern world? Then
come here, where its perpetually 1992! Goatees are still in. Long, greasy
hair is still in. Doc Martins are in. Hell, even angst is still in!
(Important note: Do not try to explain to them the irony in the fact that
they still dislike anyone over thirty, and they are all now in their
thirties, as violence may ensue.)
alt.tv.brady-bunch - This is for fans of the tv show "The Brady Bunch".
Note: This is not a joke.
rec.sport.pro-wrestling - An unhealthy mix of trolls and actual Wrestling
fans. Try to avoid, if possible.
alt.fan.tom-servo - still trying to figure this one out.
Well, that's everything! I hope my list has been as informative and helpful
as all my other lists have been!!@ P.s. if I have mistakenly left out any
other newsgroup and you wish to be added to the list, I wouldn't worry about
it. You won't be on it! LOL.
