Your message got here just fine. This group is intended to help new
people learn how to use news, so I hope you won't mind if I comment on
your .sig (signature or signature file). There is a convention in news
groups that the signature should be set off from the rest of the post by
two dashes and a space on a line by themselves, "-- ". (See my .sig for
an example.) This is because most newsreaders give the .sig special
treatment, but they can only do that if they recognize the .sig.
For instance, my newsreader will automatically not quote the .sig if it
is properly delineated (another news convention is that .sigs should not
be quoted unless you're specifically commenting on the .sig). It also
displays the .sig in a different color from the rest of the post.
