I could not believe what I was reading when I picked up the Meriden, CT.
newspaper on Wednesday August 6. The Record Journal story that got my
attention was, "Local Accordion Master Dies." Matthew Nozzolio, 53, of
Middletown, CT., who was a good friend of mine, died unexpectedly in New
Haven, CT. while playing at the Farmers Market. I first met Nozzolio at
a meeting of The Connecticut Accordion Association in Cheshire, CT. I
always knew him as an accomplished Accordion player. One day I received
a call from a Southington, CT. convalescent home asking me if I could
come and play my Accordion for the patients. Because of my 6 day a week
work schedule I had no free time. I E-Mailed Mat on my computer and he
said he would be glad to take the job for me. All worked out well thanks
to Mat. I also remember him playing Accordion at a Mexican restaurant in
Cromwell, CT. for tips only! He always played Accordion for his great
love of the instrument. Its sad that a man so talented passed away at
the young age of only 53. He touched many lives during his short time
with us and this will not be forgotten. Mat will be missed greatly by
his family, his many friends, and his fans everywhere. May Mat Always
Rest In Peace! ~Tom Coss~

Thank You My FRIENDS for your kind words! A few people E-Mailed me
asking just how he died. While playing Saturday morning at The Farmers
Market in New Haven, Connecticut he began complaining of chest pains. An
ambulance was called and took him to Yale New Haven Hospital where he
was pronounced dead. As I said, he was just too young to die at only 53
years old. Im Know he is playing now with that Big Band in Heaven! Take
Care FRIENDS, And Have A Good Day! GOD BLESS! ~Tom Coss~ ((((HUGS))))

So sad to hear that. However, we in the 203 part of CT are not affiliated
with New England - only the NY/NJ/CT Tri-state region that we represent.
