Hello all,

I'm writing to you all as a student of the University of Illinois (of
unfortunate racist mascot fame) and I am presently attempting to trace my
roots back to my great-grandmother who was Sioux.  She died, I'm not yet
sure of where she was born, in northern Wisconsin and was most likely
Anglicized, for she would have been born in the 1890s.  I am compiling a
list of names for whom I can try to contact and I was wonderring if
anyone had handy either offices with whom I can check and confer or ask
questions. If anyone here has any advice I would really appreciate it,
this is something I have always wanted to do and my family is greatly
supporting me.  Unfortunately, I am very confused of where to begin.
