" There was no witness testimony that Leonard Peltier actually shot
the two FBI agents. There was no witness testimony that placed Leonard
Peltier near the crime scene before the murders occurred. Those
witnesses placing Peltier, Robideau, and Butler near the crime scene
after the killing were coerced and intimidated by the FBI. There was
no forensic evidence as to the exact type of rifle used to commit the
murders. Several different weapons present in the area during the
shoot-out – evidence now shows that there were other AR-15 rifles in
the area – could have caused the fatal injuries. In addition, the
AR-15 rifle claimed to be Leonard Peltier’s weapon was found to be
incompatible with the bullet casing allegedly found near Agent Coler's
car. Although other bullets were fired at the crime scene, no other
casings or evidence about them were offered by the prosecutor in this
case. In short, there was no reasonable evidence that Leonard Peltier
committed the murders.
Instead there is very strong evidence of FBI misconduct.
In addition, today, the U.S. Attorney admits that no one knows who
fired the fatal shots.
The only evidence against Mr. Peltier was the fact that he was present
at the Jumping Bull ranch during the fatal shoot-out. There were more
than 30 other individuals there on the day of the shooting, but
Leonard Peltier is the only one who was ever sentenced and
imprisoned.
At the Peltier trial, the prosecutor claimed in summation that "… we
proved that he went down to the bodies and executed those two young
men at point blank range..." At the appellate hearing, however, the
government attorney conceded, "We had a murder, we had numerous
shooters, we do not know who specifically fired what killing shots...
we do not know, quote-unquote, who shot the agents.""
Bernie Lafferty: Her reaction?
Question: Uh huh.
Bernie Lafferty: Emm, I can't remember. I just, I think mostly because
of how I reacted myself. Because, I don't even know - he just told us!
I, I don't know if we - I don't think we asked him or anything. And
we, we were just talking about it one time and he told us and then
I've never, in my whole life, since that day, ever told anybody or
admitted it, or said I knew anything, until right now when I'm talking
to you.
Question: Uh huh. Well, you know, 26 years is a long time for a
fallacy and reinvention of history and a lot of other people; a lot of
other people's lives have been affected because of that.
Bernie Lafferty: Yeah.
Question: But I want to talk about that some more. Emm, correct me if
I'm wrong here, but part of what he said was, 'That mother-f****r was
begging for his life but I shot that f****r anyway.'
Bernie Lafferty: Uh huh.
Question: Is that how you remember it?
Bernie Lafferty: That's - yeah. I don't know if it was those exact
words but yeah, that was kind of basically what he said.

1) Peltier was not even charged with the killings until months later,
after June 1975, nor were his co-defendants Bob Robideau and Dino
Butler. Bob and Dino were acquited of all charges as it was SELF-
DEFENSE; but . . . Peltier was convicted in a separate trial and
sentenced to 2 life sentences.
2) Leonard Peltier has been in Federal maximum security Pens for 32
YEARS, since 1976. Enough is enough. He should be freed.
3) Peltier has not talked about who really killed the 2 FBI agents
Coler and Williams, claiming he's no rat, against a right-on Brother.
After all, those cops came in shooting at women and children on the
Pine Ridge Reservation on June 26, 1975.
4) Bob Robideau himself said Mr. X did it, in 1991, on a '60 Minutes'
TV interview, at Ward Churchill's house in Boulder, before author
Peter Matthiessen (recently admits he was a CIA agent, in the New York
Times) and filmmaker Oliver Stone, a good friend of Russell Means'.
Mr. X himself on camera said he killed the agents. Bob said he did it.
It's well-known David Hill was Mr. X. Who is David Hill? Dino Butler
said Mr. x did NOT kill the agents.
5) Anti-AIM proponents like Paul Demain of NFIC in this enclosed
interview say Peltier himself killed the agents, and bring up hearsay
testimong decades later.
6) The FBI say Peltier killed the agents, and oppose any new trial or
release of Peltier from prison on parole. President Clinton refused to
pardon Peltier in 2000.
Thanks David. Bernie didn't make any concrete statements. paulprice
basically put words in her mouth. You're right. The young people were
born after all of this happened. Unfortunately they have someone like
Demain and Two Elk trying to educate them to the fbi story.
